Are you thinking of updating your office space? Your office space represents who you are as a business. Just like the shoes you are wearing, when potential clients come to visit, they will cast an instant judgment as soon as they walk into your office space. The same can be said for your staff members, the appearance of your office can instantly change the morale of your team. Everyone knows Google has a cool office space, so when people are visiting they instantly get a buzz. You want your staff members to enjoy working in your office and want to come in, instead of dreading it.
Updating your office space can be done in a number of ways. Small changes can be made such as adding plants for color and appearance, artwork on the wall to add character and installing air fresheners so that your office smells good. Bigger changes can be done such as adding wood grille to your interior, updating the walls and making changes to the layout.
Employee morale
Your employee’s morale is an important factor when running any business – without them, you wouldn’t be a business after all! The happier they are and more motivated when they walk into the office, the better they are likely to perform on a daily basis. This will not only increase your sales but also reduce your staff turnover. When employing new colleagues, you will have more applications as people will want to work for you due to your nice office, over people who don’t look after their employees. Most companies who work in nice buildings will often be spoken about, helping increase brand awareness. Having a nice office when starting up is a great way to hit the ground running.
Impress your clients
Keeping your client happy is very important when running a business. Just like your employees, if you don’t keep them happy and they leave, you could end up in a bad position. Having a nice office space gives off the impression that you care about your business, and want your employees to be happy, therefore your client will be happy. If they are putting you up against another business in a pitch, having a nice office space could be the difference between getting the client or not.
Helps to set the standards
Your standards represent who you are as a company. Part of your standard includes how you present yourself at work. Updating your office space shows you take care of your appearance and want to continue to develop and impress. It shows you are willing to invest in your company and that you are here for the long run. Employees won’t be worried about you closing down and the same can be said for your clients.
